I know you love hanging your self-portraits in the room, so I painted the wall in a blue sky and green ocean color and hung the same portrait, the most handsome Vincent portrait, as seen in your Bedroom in Arles (3rd),įrom painting your work, love and appreciation for nature, family, and hardworking, honest people taught me how to be joyful, hopeful, and kind to self and others. I also thought you would like to have your beloved mother's portrait at the window side, where she could enjoy flowers under the sun. The window still captured some light from the sky, representing hope that brightens up red tulips and the book - shining your passion and highlighting your happiness - even though thunderclouds were coming soon to shadow your joy and life that could be ending. I chose this view as a tribute to your last weeks of life. The view from the window is your Wheatfield under Thunderclouds.
